It isn’t supposed to feel this way, is it?
Having a newborn is a life-changing experience filled with different responsibilities, emotions, and expectations
Moms of newborns are often flooded with opinions—many of them unsolicited. When those opinions don’t align with how you’re truly feeling, they can feel more isolating than helpful. You’ve likely heard everything from “Soak this in, you’ll miss it someday,” to “The newborn stage is the best (or easiest) one.” Maybe you had your own hopeful expectations for this season too; imagining peaceful naps, sweet bonding moments, a blissful adventure.
But what we rarely talk about is the other side, the one you might find yourself in now. For many women, the lack of sleep, constant demands, and physical recovery can bring on unexpected feelings of worry, fear, overwhelm or anxiety.
You’re not alone, and you don’t have to go through this alone
I’m here to walk beside you through this season, to help carry some of the heaviness, and to work together
My goal is to restore a sense of calm, rest, and clarity. This period of time isn’t easy, but it doesn’t have to be this hard. I understand that adding one more thing to your already full plate may feel impossible, or like the last thing you want to do, but reaching out might be the first step toward starting to feel better.
You know something needs
to change
but figuring out one more thing right
now is overwhelming
We’ll start with a brief (15 minute) phone call to discuss your needs, payment options, and find the best appointment time for you. I offer telehealth sessions during the day and evening.
Feeling nervous about counseling is completely normal. Your first session may bring some anxiety, many feel the same way. We’ll begin by covering paperwork, how I operate, payment schedules and policies. Then, we’ll focus on what matters most to you - at your own pace.
Discussing personal issues with a stranger can be uncomfortable, so I prioritize building a comfortable relationship first. You set the pace for our conversations. I’m here to help those ready to dig into the tough stuff, but I understand that it can take time to get there.
